Diary of a Sad Marketer

I missed out on microsoft. Funny how all but a handful walked out on Bill Gates. You can believe they were sure a sad crew and still kicking themselves today. Drat...IF only I could have been one of the few!

I missed out on AOL too. The shares were dirt cheap and IF I had only purchased some of those dirt cheap shares back then, well, I would be eating grapes on an exotic island instead of posting here today!

I had a great chance to purchase Google stock when it was dirt cheap. IF I had only done just that!

Then came programs, various biz ops, even software, that I totally missed out on. How much money was it that ICQ got when it sold?

IF I had only be a part of that in some little way!

And what about those kids in the basement? The one that came up with a simple video site called UTube...IF I had only thought of that first!

I was here in the early 90's.....why in the heck did I not buy all those great dot com domain names? IF I had bought just a few of those big highly targeted dot com domain names...whewweee!

Recall the student that created the first pixel website? So simple. Why didn't I think of that? IF I had, I'd have made a million bucks in a very short period of time!

In 1999 a company called 'AllAdvantage' launched and paid out over 100 million dollars to their free members. In fact, I was a member of AllAdvantage. But you know what...I did not take heed and therefore since I did nothing, I earned nothing. IF I had only participated, I would have shared in that 100 Million payout!

Does this sound like a diary of a sad marketer or the story of the big fish that got away?

Maybe.

However, I have been very fortunate over the years so I really don't have room to complain. Still...some times...it just sort of crawls up on me that I was there......was there for all of them...every one of them, I could have participated, I could have created, I could have shared in the wealth.
